Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

Responsible Business is not just about the environment; we also do care about the people.
People in need
As a part of our RB program, we help «Nochlezka» (Doss-house) whose work is focused on helping homeless people in St Petersburg. We provide them with old slippers, soap, shampoo, old linen, towels etc.
«Bitel» working with drug addict people, whose aim is to help people back into life.
Also we help some local children’s charitable foundations such as Korchakov centre and «Zeleniy mir detstva» (Green World of Childhood). We supply them with old slippers, soap, shampoo, old linen, towels, old uniforms, things from «Lost & Found» (which were not claimed for a long time). Conduct auctions of money collections for charity needs.
Orphan home № 53
The hotel has been supporting and donating to Orphan home № 53 since 2008. We hold different kind of activities and actions in order to provide help to orphan children. On a regular basis we conduct Charity auctions and sell porcelain items covered with celebrities’ paintings & signatures and donate money to children.
Money is not the only thing children need; they also need our involvement and attention. That is why we organize football tournaments with children from Orphan home, plant trees and develop gardens together with children, invite them to our events and visit theirs activities.
Health Care
In our hotel we have a Power heart Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The AED is a proven medical response in the event of a Heart Attack - the number one cause of death which can strike anyone, anywhere, anytime.
The AED provides reliable, safe and intelligent cardiac monitoring and defibrillation technology that significantly protects hearts and saves lives. The easy-to-use features of the Power heart AED allow virtually anyone to defibrillate heart attack victims quickly and efficiently, dramatically improving the chances of survival from a heart attack. Front office staff and all Managers on Duty have now been trained in the AED's use to ensure that we are able to react promptly in any given situation.
